Thursday Update

Today, Joanna Ciampaglione and I hosted a town hall for our New York PCS team, and just as it was with our past town halls, it was an honor to share an hour, hear stories, and feel the commitment we all have for AccentCare and our patients. That is a tough team. Emphasis on TOUGH and emphasis on TEAM.

They pulled through the worst of the worst together, and they realize now that today they’re stronger and even more committed to their call to purpose. They also said they’re moving forward, and focused on bringing their patients back on service. You heard that same thinking in Mike Arenella’s Real Talk Real Care video Tuesday night.

One thing that the New York team wanted me to share with all of you is their heartfelt gratitude for the many parts of our organization that helped them push through the dark days. For those of you who lent a hand, I want you to know that it did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. I’m confident that we are a closer, much more connected community of caregivers because of COVID-19. No matter your job, or brand, or state, we’ve shared this journey together.

On Thursdays, I share my weekly video, and this one is a little different. I want to grab your attention to that so that you’ll watch it, understand it, and put it into action.

Today’s video message signals a new mindset for AccentCare to embrace. Let’s acknowledge our successes because there’s no doubt we have been successful. But, just like the New York team shared with me, our mindset should be about moving forward.

While we won’t return to a pre-COVID world for some time, it’s time that we stop thinking about being in the middle of a COVID-19 crisis, and instead, embrace an attitude of being in a world-class homecare organization that’s armed to operate successfully in a COVID-19 world.

We have a common call to purpose and people who depend on us. And I’m convinced that our lines of business are a more significant part of the solution than they ever have been before.

Watch my message, and of course, if you have any feedback you’d like to share, please send it along.

We’ll have one last daily update tomorrow.  We’ll talk then.
