Subject: Coronavirus – State of Emergency Declared in California

Early this morning, Governor Gavin Newsom declared an official state of emergency for the state of California in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. As of today, nearly 10,000 people in the state of California are being monitored.

AccentCare is carefully following today’s developments and is aggressively pushing forward with our Emergency Preparedness Plan.

For all of our employees, please redouble your efforts to maintain excellent hygiene, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that you should:
• Stay home if you have respiratory symptoms (coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath) and/or a temperature
• Shield coughs and sneezes with a tissue, elbow, or shoulder (not the bare hands)
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer

In summary, we continue to strongly urge the importance of (1) self-quarantining if symptomatic; (2) seek medical care immediately upon occurrence of symptoms; and (3) sanitize thoroughly and wash your hands.

If you have not already, you will likely receive an email directing you to mandatory COVID-19 training. Please complete this as soon as possible.

Also, keep in mind that all non-essential travel is now on hold until further notice. Please speak with your manager and executive leader to determine if any planned travel is essential.
