COVID-19 HomeBound Requirement

During this unusual time,  even the most well-understood things arent quite as clear.  Among those things is the very well-known homebound requirment.

COVD-19 changes much with who is considered homebound.  For your help, we’d like to give you some guidance:

The patient is considered homebound:

  • When patient has been ordered by the physician to remain in the home (quarantine) because of confirmed COVID infection
  • When patient has been ordered by the physician to remain in the home (quarantine) because of potential or actual exposure
  • When the patient is in a high risk category (e.g. advanced age, pulmonary compromised, immune compromised) and the patient is under “shelter in place” or “quarantine” orders regardless of COVID exposure or not.  The patient could be harmed by seeking medical attention.
  • When a patient has been asked to quarantine due to potential exposure of a household member
